28 Years Later feels like a misfire. While the original “28 Days Later” still holds up as a classic, this sequel doesn’t add much to the conversation. The raw, shaky-cam style that felt so fresh back then just feels a bit tired now, and the story retreads old ground without any real payoff. The ending is particularly strange and left me scratching my head. For a franchise that once felt so innovative, this latest installment is a disappointment. There are so many better post-apocalyptic stories out there, like “The Day of the Triffids” which I read recently.
